Blibli.com and Star Wars have joined forces to launch “The Galaxy of Epic Deals”, a powerful array of Star Wars exclusive merchandise to mark the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. As part of the collaboration, Blibli.com has assembled 16 of the most hype Indonesian fashion designers to create special fashion collections that carry the Star Wars spirit.

Blibli.com commissioned Nasha Ashley Rances Samala to create an exclusive invitation card for the launch of a collaborative event with Star Wars in Indonesia. Nasha will never fail to impress when it comes to design execution. This printing of the card uses special ink, and it is called black ink. A specific material that can only be viewed by using UV light.

The invitation comes along with a special UV torchlight that resembles a lightsaber. The guest will need to shine on it to read the hidden content.

“One of the reasons I took this project was the challenge of being able to print with UV ink. I’ve seen some online but never in person so I was really looking forward to it to actually work. The major obstacles I had to face were time and the perfect UV lights. I had two weeks to design, test print, produce and search for lights that fit the allocated budget hence there was no time for trial and error.

Biggest Lesson Learned: There are only certain UV lights that could read UV ink.

Last-minute I had to purchase a second set of UV lights since the first ones failed, they were not strong enough to read UV ink. Thankfully it worked, not the way how I wanted to but it was legible enough. Later on, I was able to find the right UV light though it did cost quite a little extra, those were the lights that I used for the photos above. With the experience I gained from this project, I’ve learned the do’s and don’ts dealing with ultraviolet printing and I honestly can’t wait for the next one.” — Nasha

She has always been an inspiration to all her peers and her energetic aura is well reflected in her creative works. Her recent internship with DDB Indonesia as an Art Director has further developed her technical and creative approach. We strongly believe this is just a glimpse of her full potential as an art director, there will be more award-winning content in the near future.
