The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the largest particle accelerator in the world. Many people may have heard of it from The Big Bang Theory sooner than coming across it ourselves. The machine allows scientists to prove the existence of particles needed to understand the universe and its stability. In 2012, the Hadron Collider was used to famously discovered evidence of the Higgs Boson particle, which provided proof that the Higgs Field exists, which gives mass to elements.

The Hadron Collider itself, however, is the subject of many conspiracy theories. Because of the sensationalism of the machine, many theories have surfaced surrounding the ‘true’ experiments being conducted inside of the collider. After an earthquake in April 2016 coincided with the immediate shutdown of the collider, many people concluded that there was something strange happening beneath Switzerland.

Some believe that the experiments taking place are creating portals to other dimensions, other worlds, or simply the past. These theories, although odd and possibly far-fetched, are not entirely remiss, especially considering that some experiments conducted inside…
