Tech News

Italian Government Establishes 30-Member Blockchain Advisory Board — The board will examine use cases for the technology in both the private and public sectors.

New interbank platform shows Asia’s blockchain growth — The China Banking Association (CBA) has now started to roll out the long-awaited “China Trade and Finance Interbank Trading Blockchain Platform”, designed to standardize and digitize interbank transaction information for trade and financial products and serves in “laying an important foundation for building a new trade finance ecosystem and improving the efficiency of financial services.”

ConsenSys, AMD To Develop Blockchain Tech — The alliance between the Ethereum solutions provider, microchip manufacturer, and United Arab Emirates based investment management firm Halo Holdings, aims to develop a blockchain based cloud computing infrastructure.

Binance to Back Crypto, Blockchain Projects with Second Incubation Program — The initiative, called BUIDLing, would expand the scope of the company venture fund, Binance Labs, on a global level.

Hong Kong Crypto Exchange to Offer Bitcoin Futures with 20x Leverage — Hong Kong-based crypto exchange Coin Futures and Lending Exchange (CoinFLEX) has announced that it will be providing futures contracts for cryptocurrencies to Asian investors as from February 2019.

Colorado Considers Bill Giving Cryptocurrencies Limited Exemptions From Securities Laws — A bipartisan effort sponsored at Senate level by Republican Jack Tate and Democrat Steve Fenberg, the “Colorado Digital Token Act” aims to offer limited extra freedoms for cryptocurrencies and traders.

Japan’s Financial Regulator May Approve Crypto ETFs: Report — The FSA is currently ascertaining institutional interest in ETFs that track cryptocurrencies and could ultimately give them the go ahead.

Crypto Security Company Ledger Releases Bluetooth-Enabled Hardware Wallet — The wallet, called the Ledger Nano X, was shown at the CES 2019 conference in Las Vegas. At the same time, the firm has announced mobile app set to go live on Jan. 28, allowing its users to manage their transactions and check their balances from a mobile device.
