Pros: Great location; exclusive club on weekends; beautiful views; modern (recently redone) room; historic locations. Cons: Loud.

Pros: Beautiful/modern hotel; great pool; Sunday night Jazz; good location; famous guests. Cons: Mediocre service.

3. The Standard, Downtown LA

Pros: Historic place (in many movies); great rooftop lounge; original furniture. Cons: Rooms and hotel are a bit dated.

4. SLS Beverly Hills

Pros: Huge, beautiful rooms; nice pool; impressive restaurant and bar (The Bazaar by José Andrés). Cons: Not as lively as others.

5. The Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles Live, Downtown LA

Pros: Classy; next to the Staples Center; nice pool and gym. Cons: Same building as the JW Marriott (likely cheaper).

Pros: Beautiful views onto a marina; nice walking/running path by the water next to the hotel; tennis courts. Cons: A little dated.
