Tell us a bit about yourself and your background, how did you get involved in containers with the team at ARM?

I have several years of experience with virtualization having worked on ARM KVM, an open-source ARM virtualization system and Xen Project, a hypervisor using a microkernel design, providing services that allow multiple computer operating systems to execute on the same computer hardware concurrently. ARM is passionate about contributing to the software ecosystem and my team is focussed on open source software with containerization as one of our key areas.

What projects most excite you in the container ecosystem at the moment?

Virtual Machine based Container (Hyper Container, Clear Container, Now Kata Container)

Is there someone in the container community who you admire for their work?

Xu Wang, CTO of Hyper Container (hyper.sh).

Without giving too much away, what three things will people learn from your Container Camp AU talk?

  • Container host security is important.
  • We can use Unikernel to enhance the services of Container host.
  • A new method to reduce the difficulty of transferring applications to Unikernel.
