I only want what I can get, and that’s not much

I knock, but the door is locked
to the Museum of Unfulfilled Longings.
I read the sign posted on the wall.
We had to close, perhaps forever.
Exhibits in the Past Longings Room
have faded beyond recognition.
Time flew to Florida with the coffee maker,
so the Present Longings Room is empty.
The Future Longings Room is filled
with prunes and Bingo.
Who wants to see that?
