You move through shards and splinters,
brown leaves swirling, falling, on the brambles,
a fluttering heart, wings worn to shreds.
Melodies I cannot hear
beckon you to unknown country.
I follow, you don’t see me, know me.
I, a clod of half-baked mud,
and you a bird in oblique flight.
