Do you ever feel stuck with what to write about, what to share on your social media or ways to bring your latest offering to life?

Being creative is one of the best ways to stand out and show the uniqueness of you and your brand.

There will be times when you feel less creative. This often comes down to a lack of motivation or general procrastinating. It’s not always easy to get back into your creative zone but it will always be worth it.

Here are a few ideas to help you next time you feel the creative block appear.

Change Your Environment ♻️

This is one I do regularly if I’m feeling a lack of creativity. It can be, I’ve spent too long working at the same desk in my office which is leading to the creative block.

If you feel like this, pack up your laptop and change environments, a local coffee shop or a hotel lobby are a couple of places which you will feel comfortable moving to as there are usually lots of people working in these locations.

Open up your laptop, pick the one thing you want to work on and let the magic happen!

Organize Your Work Space 🧠

I’ll admit it, I’m not the tidiest person and sometimes when my working area gets too messy it can really affect my creativity.

If this happens to you, allow yourself 15 minutes to give it a quick tidy up, maybe light a candle and then get to work.

It’s amazing how moving a few dirty glasses and putting some papers away can have a big impact on your mindset, mood and ultimately your creativity.

Go on Vacation 🏖️

This is an extreme version of changing your environment but every time I go on vacation whether it’s for a weekend or a few weeks I always feel inspired when I’m there, with ideas circling around my mind and a new excitement for what I want to create.

When you are on vacation, you’re more relaxed and this allows your creative brain to get to work. When you’re away, be prepared for this to happen with a notebook or a place to scribble down all of your good ideas!

I always have lots of notes to work with when I get back.

Relax 🛀

Find out what helps you relax and allow your brain to switch off for an hour or so. It could be a bath, a workout, a walk, a massage — Try different things and see what works best for you.

When you come back, you’ll feel rejuvenated and you might even think of your next blog post whilst you are chilling out.

These are only a few ways I have found can help your creativity but it’s important to mix things up, try new things and understand what works for you.

This means, next time you hit a creative block you will have some ways to get over it quickly.
