Wrycan and DeltaXML automate Redline product generation for NFPA
NFPA produces over 300 codes and standards documents devoted to eliminating death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire, electrical and related hazards.
When a new edition of an NFPA code or standard is released, NFPA produces a Redlined edition of each code highlighting the content that has changed from the last edition to the new current edition. Creating the Redline edition is very labor intensive and can take up to 70 hours of manual labor for codes that can sometimes be more than 1000 pages.
Wrycan delivered a system that integrated DeltaXML’s XML Compare and our ContentBase platform. The resulting solution allows NFPA to manage all of their content in a single repository, automating comparisons in a product-agnostic form.
- Reduced the time to create each new Redline edition from 70 hours to less than 1 hour.
- Print PDFs for Redline edition maintain pagination of the original NFPA code editions.
- A total labor saving across 300 different docs of over 2500 hours.
- New Redline products being planning.
