Inspirational Presentations (Content Weekly #3)

“Don’t worry if a project doesn’t seem to be on the path to some goal you’re supposed to have. Paths can bend a lot more than you think.” — PaulG

This week I curated three examples of Inspirational content, specifically, in the format of presentations. And what’s cool is that all three share their inspiring messages differently.

  1. One through Fictional stories.
  2. One through a How-To.
  3. One through Personal Stories.

3 Inspirational Presentations to learn from

In this funny and blunt talk, Larry Smith pulls no punches when he calls out the absurd excuses people invent when they fail to pursue their passions.

Simon Sinek has a simple but powerful model for inspirational leadership — starting with a golden circle and the question: “Why?” His examples include Apple, Martin Luther King Jr., and the Wright brothers.

Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch (Oct. 23, 1960 — July 25, 2008) gave his last lecture at the university Sept. 18, 2007, before a packed McConomy Auditorium. In his moving presentation, “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams,” Pausch talked about his lessons learned and gave advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal goals.

This week’s quote

“Don’t worry if a project doesn’t seem to be on the path to some goal you’re supposed to have. Paths can bend a lot more than you think. So let the path grow out the project. The most important thing is to be excited about it, because it’s by doing that you learn.” Paul Graham

What I take away from these presentations and the quote:

If you follow your purpose, you’ll get to the right place eventually, inspiring others along the way.
