The Brakes of Life
How the ‘brakes’ in life — questions, guidance, and challenges — are essential for success
Disclaimer: This is not my own story; I read it on Facebook, found it valuable, and thought to share it with you, my friends. (The original text was in Urdu.)
In a physics class, a teacher asked the students:
“Why do we use brakes in a car?”
The responses varied:
“To stop the car.”
“To reduce speed.”
“To avoid accidents.”
But the best answer was:
“To make it possible to drive the car at high speed.”
Now, think about it. Imagine driving a car without brakes. Would you ever dare to go full speed?
Brakes give us the confidence to accelerate, to push forward, knowing we can control and steer safely toward our destination.
In life, the brakes often come disguised as parents questioning our decisions, mentors guiding us, or friends offering unsolicited advice.
These “brakes” may seem like obstacles slowing us down or holding us back.
