“May” Contentos Take You To The World : Global Roadshow, Consensus 2019, CoinDesk Live, TomoChain Partnership, and More
After traveling to Vietnam for the first official stop of our Global Roadshow tour where we got to spend time with the teams from TomoChain, Nexty, MixMarvel, Axie Infinity, and SOMESING, the Contentos team headed to New York City for Consensus — the largest annual gathering of the cryptocurrency and blockchain technology world. Developers, founders, and investors joined together from May 12 to the 15th to discuss the future of the industry.
For our second meetup, we wanted to bring the fun and excitement of Consensus to our growing community, so we teamed up with CoinDesk Live, the official live show for Consensus, to “co-stream” all the action from the event. In addition to the co-stream, Contentos served as one of only a few Three Block Sponsors and hosted a booth where Contentos team members were on hand to share information, answer questions, and host surprise giveaways for lucky attendees. To top it all off, Contentos co-founder Mick Tsai signed an official partnership with Long Vuong of TomoChain during Blockchain Week NYC.
Co-Stream with CoinDesk Live and Content Mining Game
During the three-day livestream sponsored exclusively by Contentos, the CoinDesk team interviewed several experts and industry leaders, giving blockchain enthusiasts around the world access to the latest updates on the biggest and most popular projects. To help users better understand the concept of “content mining,” Contentos gave away 120,000 COS and 15 ETH to those who watched CoinDesk Live via the Contentos website.
Users who logged in to their accounts and participated in the campaign had the chance to win a shared prized pool of 5 ETH daily. They could also earn a random amount of ETH everyday by increasing their “lucky points.” In total, over 20,000 people watched the livestream over three days and more than 1,000 people participated in the competition.
While the live show was very successful and great way for us to engage with the Contentos community, the opportunity represents just a small part of our core mission, which is educating the general public about blockchain in an easy and rewarding way. As the blockchain industry continues to grow across all sectors, we’re committed to helping the average use learn more about the technology so they can take advantage of the opportunities the technology presents.
Mick Tsai and Zac Nien Talk About Contentos During CoinDesk Live
Our co-founder Mick Tsai and Zac Nien, Senior Director of Product Management at Contentos, appeared on CoinDesk Live as special guests.
During his interview on Day 1, Mick discussed why he created Contentos, the importance of data transparency in content creation, and what Contentos is doing to help users protect their privacy. When asked about UX/UI design when integrating with other apps and native wallets, Mick explained how Contentos has found a “middle point” between a centralized and decentralized approach that allows both blockchain experts and newbies to use and engage with the platform. He also discussed his vision for Contentos to become a “self-sustainable content ecosystem,” where creators can use COS across the many integrated DApps.
To date, four DApps, including Contentos,io, PhotoGrid, COS2048, and WalkCoin, have integrated with the Contentos testnet — creating more than 35,000 addresses on the chain, 16,000+ pieces of content, and 15,000 transactions. Within two weeks of the TestNet launch on March 27th, Contentos had 2,500 daily active users. Since then, many creators and users have joined and are experiencing the benefits of using a blockchain project built for the content industry. All of the real time statistics can be viewed on Contentos’ block explorer; what’s more, we are completely open-source on Github.
On Day 2, Mick discussed the content moderation issues centralized platforms face, and how Contentos’ users play a major role in maintaining the quality of content on the blockchain.
On Day 3, Zac discussed how Contentos carefully selects the partners who integrate with its ecosystem and what the blockchain project looks for in a potential DApp partner. He also explained how Contentos partners with influencers to create videos that don’t just educate exiting blockchain users but anyone interested in learning more about the industry. He also discussed how Contentos is different from other content-focused projects and his thoughts on the future of blockchain.
Contentos Launches Partnership with TomoChain
In addition to sponsoring and co-streaming CoinDesk Live, Contentos officially launched its partnership with TomoChain during Consensus. Described as “the most efficient blockchain for the token economy,” TomoChain will be a new partner with Contentos to work together to help Southeastern content creators and audience to enjoy the true value of content creation. ”It is a great collaboration between top tier Blockchain projects and a new exploration of DApp promotions. Contentos is happy to work with Tomochain and help more global users to experience high quality Blockchain products.” Mick added.
TomoChain was among the blockchain projects present at our first meetup in Vietnam, and we look forward to working with the team at TomoChain even more in the future.
Contentos Goes to Amsterdam
For our third stop on the Contentos Global Roadshow tour, we went to Amsterdam where we met up with some big names, including Ontology, MixMarvel, Neo Health, Cocos-BCX, Effect.AI, and RYUGames, etc. During the meetup, Mick introduced Contentos to the European community. Also, five lucky attendees won a prize pack of Contentos goodies!
We enjoyed getting to meet new people and partners during our Global Roadshow tour and look forward to making many more stops in the future!
