Is “PlayerUnknown’s: BATTLEGROUNDS” the superior battle royale game?

Yes. Yes it is.

“PlayerUnknown’s: BATTLEGROUNDS”, has been out for three days now already reaching 55,000 players concurrently playing at once, compared to its rival “H1Z1: King of the Kill”, with 88,000 concurrent players. And while it might be too early to create judgments on a game as new as PU: BATTLEGROUNDS, there are certain things it does right compared to its older counterparts.

To the people who haven’t experienced a battle royale game they mostly go like this. A large mass of people are dropped into different parts of a large map, looting all the items they find, while also killing other players for a certain amount of time. The game randomly determines a safe-zone for users to run into. If you don’t make it into the safe-zone, you slowly begin to die from gas and other things of the sort. The safe-zone gets smaller and smaller until there is one victor for that game.

So as you can see it seems pretty fun. But PU: BATTLEGROUNDS expands on it. The graphics are better, the weapons are easy to use and fun, and the map looks full of life with colors everywhere. (Ironic right? With everyone dying and such) Items are easy to find. And the games feel longer and more intense which also brings a lot of fun to the experience.

You can tell that PlayerUnknown had a lot more direction to where the game has went over the four year development course. When you play the game, you kind of feel that PlayerUnknown tried to make this the best he could with being creative director for the game. A feeling you don’t really get as much when playing H1Z1 and ARMA 3.

The game has been flourishing, reaching the top of Twitch.tv for days now. Let’s hope it continues to do well.
