Feedforward Control
Feedforward control anticipates disturbances and takes corrective actions before these disturbances affect the system.
Acts on predicted disturbances, requires accurate models, and is preemptive.
How it Works:
- Measurement: Feedforward control measures disturbances or changes in the input that are likely to affect the system.
- Prediction: It predicts the effect of these disturbances on the system output.
- Compensation: It applies corrective actions based on this prediction to maintain the desired system output.
Feedback Control
Feedback control responds to the system output and adjusts the control input to minimize the difference (error) between the desired and actual output.
Acts on the error between desired and actual output, is reactive, and provides robustness to unknown disturbances and model inaccuracies.
