In it’s entire history, Call of Duty (CoD) has never been able to form any kind of justified team rankings based on a full season’s LAN play. Now, Dexerto, the online news site for premier gameplay, has compiled its own list of the top ten world-ranked teams in CoD.

Lack of events is one of the problems

The main reason for the inability to produce world rankings has been the lack of LAN competitions through a single season. And with the tendency of teams to change roster multiple times in a year, only power rankings have previously been available.

Rankings are possible this season

This year things have been a little different. For the first time in its history, there are now enough LAN competition events to form a comprehensive list of the teams’ rankings. And with the new trend of keeping that cohesive team together, it makes it easier to judge their form. However, the rankings are not done by mathematical processes or complex algorithms. Dexerto has decided to base their ranking on the teams’ form and performance from the start of the season. As there is often more to the placing of a team in a competition than just their scores, the “equal” placings are not always exactly equal, since they are based only on scores.

The rankings listed here are mainly based on their past results in LAN-based competitions only, and the event’s significance in the season’s tournaments.

The rankings are listed in descending order

Enigma6

In tenth place, General, Kade, Proto, and MRuiz, were placed 9th-12th at the recent MLG Dallas event, which was their most impressive result this year.

Evil Geniuses

Placed ninth, they recently won their spot in the Call of Duty World League (CWL), with Studyy, Nagafen, NAMELESS, and Havok.

Rise Nation

At number eight, Loony, Aqua, FeLo, and Faccento, need to give a better showing in future events to move up.

Millenium

Formerly known as Infused, this 7th place British team comprising of MarkyB, Peatie, Nolson, and Moose, lack wins against serious opponents that would have placed them higher.

Luminosity

Sixth place team of Octane, Classic, Slacked, and Saints looks to be a team that is worth watching after their excellent showing against OpTic at Dallas.

Splyce

Another Brit team at number five, Madcat, Bance, and Jurd are led by top-ranker ZeRo, and look to be on the rise this season, with top three placing within reach.

Team EnVyUs

Apathy, JKap, John, and Slasher have made a huge jump in the ranking, although one more mid-placing in an event would take the top three well out of reach.

FaZe Clan

Enable, ZooMaa, Clayster, and Attach have been consistent all season, and deserve their number three place, but still need that major event first place win.

eUnited

With their big win at Atlanta and a good second in Dallas, Prestinni, Arcitys, SiLLY, and Gunless are improving their form to keep their second place in the list

OpTic Gaming

Scump, Crimsix, FormaL, and Karma rightly deserve their first place here, after two consecutive first placings at ESWC and Dallas.
