Call of Duty eSports team, Cyclone, was not up to standard this year, and the team could not score a single point against Millenium, Orbit and Team 3G at the Gfinity Call of Duty World League (CWL) event in London. They lost all nine maps spread over three matches. Utterly disappointed after this heavy defeat, the Irish esports organization decided to quit Call of Duty. The team made its announcement on Twitlonger.

The players showed no team spirit

Even if the four French team members, Staan, Muscova, Sayko and SlyZh, are each individually very talented, they could not play as a team. Arguments were flaring up daily and the environment was not conducive to a productive and healthy spirit, even if they claim respecting and appreciating each other.

The team members realized that they could not achieve the goal of becoming the best French team and made a mutual decision to go their separate ways after the defeat at Gfinity CWL London. This event was the straw that broke the camel’s back and was also the sole reason why the four were still sticking together: “It was not the performance we expected…We didn’t show up!”

It was obvious that they could not showcase their best on the European scene. The roster was dismantled by the end of January 2017 despite it having had a clear-cut plan ahead for the year.

The brand takes a diplomatic stance

The Dublin-based organization took a diplomatic stance regarding the departure of the four team members. The latter were thanked for having represented the brand. The brand urged fans to continue supporting and respecting the team members irrespective of where they would be in the future.

Cyclone was established in May 2016 by a group of friends thirsty for gaming. Since its inception, the organization has managed to acquire top teams, and individual players too, with the clear goal of being the best in the gaming industry. The brand has been in the limelight in scenes like Overwatch, Smite, Call of Duty, Paladins, Hearthstone and League of Legends.

Cyclone acquires a Brazilian team

The departure of the French team members from Call of Duty did not discourage the organization. Only a few days after this major change, Cyclone came into the spotlight again by acquiring the Brazilian CS:GO Team. Previously known as Big Gods and Teammates, it comprises of dzt, land1n, NEKIZ, chelo and tatazin. This team is considered as one of the best in Brazil, having started off strongly. The team has some remarkable feats on its account.

Cyclone has some new events brewing for 2017. It is going to participate in the ESEA Open Brazil, the ESL Premier League Brazil and the Brazil Game Cup Rio 2017.

Cyclone gets a new young coach

2017 has been witnessing a series of changes for Cyclone. The organization equally acquired a new coach from Copenhagen, Denmark. Lasse “Fykling” Sleby, aged 20. The latter has been coaching since 2015 and was recommended by a friend to join Cyclone. After a trial period, the organization asked him to stay and he himself, felt he could evolve freely in this organization. “Fykling’s” main goal right now is to take the team at the top in UK ESL. He also envisages recruiting more staff to consolidate the team as a whole.

Call of Duty remains an epic video game

Call of Duty is the very first first-person shooter video game. It began on Microsoft Windows and was later designed for consoles and handhelds. It equally witnessed several spin-off games. The latest game released is Infinite Warfare, launched in November 2016. Cyclone had several plans ahead for Call of Duty but had to retract with the splitting of the team.
