The French team launched its eSports project last October with the announcement of the arrival of two first-rate players for the FIFA video game. The Danish double world champion (2014, 2016) August “Agge” Rosenmeier (20 years) and French younster Lucas “DaXe” Cuillerier (16 years) are defending the Parisian team in the biggest competitions. The two eSportsmen have decidedly been quick to prove themselves by shining on two occasions under the colors of the French club, winning both tournaments they participated in.

DaXe brilliantly won Paris Games Week

For the Electronic Sports World Convention (ESWC) world championship held during Paris Games Week — an annual trade fair for video games held at the Porte de Versailles in France, the two PSG players were lined up with big expectations around the Danish champion August “Agge” Rosenmeier mainly. Unfortunately, the latter was eliminated early enough in the final tree, leaving his teammate Lucas “DaXe” Cuillerier as the only title contender for PSG. The 16-year-old French star was up to the challenge and even afforded the luxury of eliminating the favorite with a deficit of three goals following the first leg. After this feat, nothing stopped him and in the final he swept his opponent Timo “Timox” Siep, also under contract with a football club, VfL Wolfsburg. This triumph of the French secured him the World champion crown — an astounding start to say the least.

Agge is all the rage in Poland

The Danish had no time to ruminate on his defeat as he had to head for Poland for a competition organized by Legia Warsaw and reserved only for players representing football clubs. The PSG player was not the only one to represent a French club, since AS Monaco also had an eplayer there. The pair also played in the semi-finals which saw a victory of the Parisian. In the final, PSG comprising of DaXe opposed Schalke — which is probably the club with the highest investments, including in a team of League of Legends that will participate in the Championship Series -. The game was very tense and the golden goal of the Danish saved the day and allowed PSG to take the title. The initial disappointment he occasioned was soon a thing of the past for Agge who thereby confirmed the good decision of the Parisians to enrol him.

PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi will tolerate no failure

PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi pronounced himself satisfied with the opening performances of PSG eSports. He however expected no less. “eSports is a part of our future activity and our brand. PSG must win, we have no choice,” he said to the media. The Qatari explained his decision to invest in eSports and to enter his teams in two of the most iconic games as forming part of the club’s international development strategy. With this aim in mind, Paris Saint-Germain eSports also called on Bora “YellowStar” Kim as the sporting director to prepare for the offensive on League of Legends.
