While the Wii U may not be the most popular console of all time, the Smash Bros. scene is thriving in the competition gaming arena. With more money being spent on the scene than ever before, players are starting to earn massive incomes from being the best.

High payouts for a young game scene

With only just over two years on the Melee scene, Smash 4 is still far behind some of the other high-earning games, many of which have been around for some 15 years. However, the top-ranked players are already seeing a good income from what is one of the youngest games in eSports. The rankings listed are based on earnings statistics from esportsearnings.com.

Top ten ranked players in Smash 4 listed from lowest to highest

One of the best counter pickers in Smash 4, ANTI is comfortable with multiple characters and has great mechanical skills. One of only two players to have beaten ZeRo without losing a game. His biggest game payout was at CEO in 2016 where he picked up 5,436 dollars.

James ‘VoiD’ Makekau-Tyson — 15,415 US Dollars

Kawamura ‘Abadango’ Yuta — 15,613 US Dollars

Placed in the top four in nine different events, with 2,000 dollars in earnings this year already, he is set to make 2017 another profitable year. Biggest payday: 3,852 US dollars at Evo 2015.
