[my year in review station 02]

Walk to each art piece, pausing to pray.

Each of these expresses a shared community value.

The following prayers are from the work of Justin McRoberts and Scott Erickson, Prayer: 40 Days of Practice.

You can make your way through the “labyrinth” in any order you would like. Just find an open spot and sit or stand with the artwork and the words for as long as you like. There is no rush.

Starting Over Tree

“May I never grow tired of starting over or helping others do the same. My hope is always in renewal and resurrection.”

See God in the World

“May it be enough for me to see God in the world.”

Limitations Be Doorways

“May my limitations be doorways to partnership and relationship rather than reasons to feel shame and be isolated.”

Boat in Hands

“May I learn what it means to have enough and abandon the relentless pursuit of ‘more’.”

The Part I Can See

“May the reality that I cannot know the whole truth give me freedom to talk about the part I can see rather than paralyze me.”

Soaring

“May I have vision and courage to join God in the places He’s already working rather than feeling responsible for bringing Him .”

Once you have made it through all the artwork/prayers, find a spot to consider the final questions of the station.

Write

Which prayer shimmered? Did the words of the prayer express something that has been on your mind?

Take the prayer that stood out most to you and rewrite it in your own words. Write it as if it was a journal entry — something you are hoping for in the coming year.
