The following prayer is from the work of Justin McRoberts and Scott Erickson, Prayer: 40 Days of Practice.

Consider the artwork.

The Whole Truth by Scott Erickson

“May the reality that I cannot know the whole Truth never keep me from bearing witness to what I can and do see.”

Sketch an eye here in the blank space.

Take your time, make it as realistic (or as simple) as you would like.

What do you see? What can you “bear witness” to?

Around the eye write, or doodle things that you see that give you hope. Represent the those things you see in in the people in your life that give you a sense of hope. Consider how the Truth that you can share about are the glimpses of beauty in others.

Christ has no body but yours,

No hands, no feet on earth but yours,

Yours are the eyes with which he looks

Compassion on this world

- Teresa of Avila (1515–82)
