Ever got asked “what do you do?” at a networking event? Thought so.
You’ve got a standard answer ready? Thought so too.

When people ask me this question I tell them I co-founded a networking tool for business events. Our software makes sure people don’t have to waste their time standing alone holding a cup of coffee with no one to talk to.

Our company is growing and something interesting is happening:

By building Conversation Starter, we’ve created a bird’s-eye view of what the world is working on.

Why? We’ve build a networking app that gets rid of the “so, what do you do” question and instead focuses on tangible icebreakers. For example, someone could write: “Ask me anything about how to attract first clients for your new software company in the healthcare space”. When people find an interesting icebreaker, they can plan a meeting with the person who wrote it.

Over 16000 icebreakers have been shared on Conversation Starter by people such as entrepreneurs, researchers, executives and artists. The endless diversity of their icebreakers reveals true human greatness: from the most niche requests for expertise to the most generous offering of skills. The potential to connect relevant people through icebreakers is massive.

This is why we are building Conversation Starter: to accelerate progress by connecting people.

When people ask me “what do you do?” it’s hard for me to make them understand what I really do, because I can’t show all the great things people use Conversation Starter for. That’s why I decided to write this post. To give you a peek into what the world is working on, according to Conversation Starter icebreakers:

And over 16000 more …
