I was created to have my own and use my voice to change the world. — Aina Brei’Yon

Aina Brei’Yon is an Award Winning Music Producer, Independent Artist and Owner of 3K9 Productions. Aina’s journey in entertainment began at the young age of nine. As the second to last of nine kids there were times when her voice got lost in all the noise. Aina turned to music and she hasn’t looked back since. In the beginning of her career Aina was associated with a few indie labels. It didn’t take long for her to realize that venturing off on her own would be the best decision ever. In the last three years she has embraced all of her creative juices. From successfully releasing three self-produced albums in 2019, to launching her all female production company 3K9 Productions, to self-publishing her very first recipe book “Cheat Days With The Ugly Cook” and launching her clothing line “The Brei’Yon Collection” in the middle of a pandemic. Aina has performed on huge stages such as One Music Fest, Taste of Soul LA, SXSW and A3C. She also represented the AT&T Dream In Black campaign at the 2019 Revolt LA Hip Hop Summit. Preceded by speaking on Google & TuneCore sponsored panels during A3C. At the end of 2020 she launched the visual side of 3K9 Productions. Since its inception 3K9 Productions has been a one stop shop for musical creatives around the globe. Providing music production, composing, mixing and mastering, full song or hook writing and publishing services all in one place. Now she’s humbled to add photography, videography and branding services to the mix. The cool thing is, it’s all done by one woman, Aina!

Now if we can, I’d like to go way back for a little while. Where did you grow up?

South Side of Chicago.

What inspired your entrepreneurial journey or event?

My journey in entertainment started with me working with a few independent labels. As mentioned in my bio, I quickly realized that I needed to be in full control of my career and creative message. I decided to become an independent artist and naturally that progressed into fully taking on the “Business” side of Entertainment. Creating 3K9 Productions was simply the next step.

Tell me about what problem your business solves?

3K9 Productions was officially launched in 2019 with the release of three self produced albums that I am very proud of. 3K9 Productions is a one stop shop for anyone looking to get assistance with their next single or album from start to finish.

What do you define as failure?

Failure is not trying. 3K9 Productions is the ONLY Black Female owned production company and that is because I did not let fear take over.

What have you felt you have failed at? What might you have done to prevent those failures?

I don’t believe I’ve failed at anything. I’ve created opportunities for me to learn from.

What kind of impact do you want your service to leave on your client?

I want 3K9 Productions to be a household name with both mainstream and independent labels.

What is your why? Why you did you start your journey?

I live in purpose on purpose.

What hurdles did you personally face and how did you overcome them?

The biggest hurdle you experience in business is lack of support. Often times your community doesn’t support you until mainstream media does. My ability to overcome comes from the fact that I do this because I love it and not because of money.

Do you feel your music meets the needs of the market at the time of conception? Does it still?

Yes, yes it is. Music is food for the soul and I love playing a big role in what is released out into the world.

When did you realize entrepreneurship was right for you?

Lmao, when I was born.

Why did you choose entrepreneurship?

I was created to have my own and use my voice to change the world.

What advice do you have for entrepreneurs and small business owners who may not be achieving their goals?

Keep going and don’t be afraid to reevaluate when needed.

What would you say is your most driving motivation to keep doing what you to do?

My desire to see things through.

What are you most excited or passionate about? (In both business and life or both)

The creative process. Knowing that I created that.

What are the goals you most want to accomplish in your business? What are the goals that you hold personally?

To Die Empty.

Did you have any life-changing experiences that put you on the path that led you to be doing what you’re doing today? Tell me about them.

I grew up. I stopped playing victim and I grew up.

What’s next for you in your business/brand? What can readers look forward to from you?

I am currently writing a book on living a simple life.
