This is one of the many recipes that Aaron and I want to share with you. We are overjoyed for you to come with us on our journey as we put together different concoctions and laugh together (all while hoping to not burn our apartment down). Please enjoy these recipes as much as we have. We welcome you to a small, but intentional, part of our lives.

If you would like to read the post that accompanies this recipe, check it out here.

What You’ll Need

  • Oats, Steel Cut*
  • Water
  • Small Saucepan
  • Peanut Butter**

*Due to dietary needs, we used Nature’s Path Organic Steel Cut Gluten Free Oats

**If you have a peanut allergy, feel free to substitute it with your favorite nut butter, seed, or soy replacement!

How We Did It

NOTE: Directions are for 1 serving. If the directions on your steel cut oats are different than those that are below, follow those directions.

  1. Add 1 cup of water to the saucepan and bring it to a boil.
  2. Once water is boiling, stir 1/4 cup oats in slowly.
  3. After oats have thickened a bit (and stirring occasionally), reduce heat.
  4. Let simmer uncovered for about 25 minutes or until the oats have reached a desired consistency (continue to stir occasionally).
  5. Remove from heat and add 1–2 Tablespooons of Peanut Butter.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
