Week 281: A Walk in the Sun

And the imperfection that goes with it…

Each Sunday, my wife and I cook and eat a meal together — intentionally. Every Friday, I’ll be sharing our experience here in this space. I want to see the growth that will come in our marriage because of this. I hope you enjoy our story. You can find last week’s post here.

We got out of the car and the sun hit our faces instantly. That summer glow that, mixed with a nice breeze, you never want to go away. A gathering of people was beginning to form at our destination — the local farmer’s market that takes place every Sunday about a mile from our house.

The market was completely outdoors, with enough space to safely distance from others. But even just being around other people looking at the handiwork of local vendors felt good.

We found some goat cheese from a local farmer. She even threw in a half cheese block for free. We talked with some other vendors, and we picked up some blueberries (my favorite). Then, we made our way to main event.

The food truck line.

We had already decided that we were going to let someone else cook for us on this Sunday. That ended up being Rico Suave, one of our favorite local food trucks. Sarah got the street tacos and I got a tamale. Oh, and I added in a guava Jarrito. :)
