Each Sunday, my wife and I cook and eat a meal together — intentionally. Every Friday, I’ll be sharing our experience here in this space. I want to see the growth that will come in our marriage because of this. I hope you enjoy our story. You can find last week’s post here.

Every December, the ladies in Sarah’s family get together for a craft show near where her parents live. It is where Sarah does a bulk of our Christmas shopping, and it’s just a fun tradition for their family. We’ve even mentioned it before on Cooking With Sarah. That date is circled on the calendar every year, and Sarah always has so much fun with it. While the girls are out shopping, the boys usually stay home and get house chores done before going out to lunch together. For me, that first Saturday in December has been a fantastic time to get to know Sarah’s family better.

The craft show takes place on Saturday and Sunday. Sarah doesn’t usually go back the second day, but this year we decided to give it a try. Little did we know that a Cooking With Sarah gold mine awaited.

We were walking though the booths when someone asked us to try a food sample. We were just about to leave, but…I’ll be honest. I cannot bring myself to say no to food samples.

When they told us it was tomato butter, though, I did give a slight pause.

But then we tried it, and we were hooked. They showed us a few different flavors and what kind of recipes we could make. The creative juices were already flowing, and we couldn’t wait to try out the tomato butter in one of our recipes.

Seriously, go check these people out at their Facebook page (the link above is to the Facebook photo they posted from this very event) or visit their website. We found them to be kindred cooking spirits, and they were incredibly nice and helpful. And their sauces and dry rubs are absolutely fantastic.

A couple weeks later, we made crockpot chicken using the balsamic tomato butter. It was so tender and juicy!

One of the joys in life is that you never know who you’ll meet. I don’t always do a good job of this, but I think it’s important to constantly be aware of the people around you. Don’t overlook people. You never know when someone could make your day or when you could make theirs.

Sarah and I are definitely grateful to the people at Winnie’s Brand for being so kind to us at the craft show and for giving us such a tasty Sunday dinner!

Thank you for reading and for your continued support of Cooking With Sarah. If you have enjoyed one of our posts, we’d really appreciate if you could share our publication with your social following. That would be so wonderful of you! And, as always, we wish you the best as you enjoy simple moments with those you love.
