Earlier this year, our CEO, Rimpei Iwata joined the Gallup Podcast for a discussion about the latest research findings from the Gallup World Poll around global cooking frequency.

During the podcast, Rimpei shares his thoughts on the importance of understanding how people cook around the world, including key findings from the research. He also explores the changes in cooking behaviours at home during the Covid-19 pandemic in relation to social factors such as gender and income.

Since 2018, Cookpad has partnered with Gallup to include questions about people’s cooking habits in the Gallup World Poll. The reason for this is that while home cooking is a behaviour common around the world, there has been little academic research into its impact.

The project was conceived as a starting point for future research and explores if — and how — home cooking correlates with other life factors. Cookpad has made the findings from the World Poll available to researchers from a broad spectrum of interests to generate new explorations into the behaviour of cooking.

The Gallup Podcast, hosted by Mohamed Younis, Gallup Editor-in-Chief, focuses on what the world’s citizens think about the most pressing issues, and how leaders can use the wisdom of the people to make more informed decisions.
