Today we’re announcing the launch of Cooper, a private professional network. Cooper helps you get quality introductions from people you trust. No annoying strangers included.

We’re also announcing our $2M seed round, led by Comcast Ventures together with Localglobe, 468 Capital, Combine, and several others.

Meaningful relationships

When half of all people on the planet use social networks, it’s easier than ever to find each other online. It’s also harder to find meaning in those masses and find the people that matter to you. As a result, we start focusing more on the depth of our network instead of its breadth.

At the same time, the lines between our personal and professional life are blurring. In fact, being personal is what makes us successful in our professions. The products we use for work need to catch up.

Nurturing our professional relationships becomes incredibly important when our economy is under stress. People today actively look to make more meaningful, trusted, and real connections in their professional lives.

With Cooper, we’re building an entirely new kind of professional network based on introductions, bringing that kind of offline personal touch online.

Quality intros

Today, we’re taking our first steps. We’ve created a marketplace where aspiring talent can be introduced to experienced industry experts through people they both trust. Our early beta tests already made many of those connections happen.

In one particular case, someone who lost their job due to the pandemic found a job thanks to an intro on Cooper. And it happened several more times after that! People found mentors, partners, customers, and expanded their own inner circle.

However, what we launch today isn’t perfect. It might not have dark-mode yet, or a web app, or slick animations, but you can use it today.

Cooper is there at a time where your industry, your profession, or even your specific job, might be under a lot of stress. We’re eager to help.
