The reproductive health care landscape is experiencing a seismic shift, and the need for our collective action is deeply pressing.

With the reversal of Roe v Wade, a staggering one in three women, alongside countless trans and non-binary patients, reside in states where their access to abortion care in banned or severely restricted. Experts predict that the dangerous combination of these restrictive laws, increased births, and insufficient access to care could further increase the already unconscionable maternal mortality rate in the US, including here in my current home state of Pennsylvania.

Recently, I joined the Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania team as their new Communications Director, and the deeply unpredictable reproductive rights situation in PA (and the US) shocked me. And I consider myself fairly well informed on the topic!

I cannot express to you how KEY our region is in protecting reproductive justice and providing safe, accessible health care to patients in need.

The regrettable truth is that although abortion remains legal in Pennsylvania, the state falls short of being a place with easy access to reproductive health care. With only 18 free-standing abortion clinics across the Commonwealth, it’s crucial to recognize that these rights are tenuous. Every individual should have the opportunity to obtain comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care without concerns about violence or legal repercussion.

Hope is kindled by action.

Your support and generosity drives real change, empowering us to bridge the gap between individuals and care, reaching people in our own communities, and to welcome patients in need from restrictive states.
By making a donation today, you champion a broader spectrum of sexual and reproductive health care, and invest in the wellness of our home, our region, and our nation.

Thank you for bravely standing with us. United, our collective strength can and will shape a brighter tomorrow.

From me, and all of our at PPWP, we hope we can count on your support.

Please Donate if you can, and share our message with your networks.
