I Saw America’s Broken Systems and This Is How I’d Fix Them As President
An outsider’s non-political plan for presidential action on healthcare, justice, workers’ rights and democracy.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but if someone handed me the keys to the White House today, I would not hesitate. Not because I think I’m some political genius or python. But based on everything I’ve seen, as a student, as a worker, as a person with outside-and-insider views, it is painfully obvious the most powerful country in the world is on national autopilot. And no one seems to know what to do to take the wheels back from autopilot.
I’ve lived in the U.S., studied there, worked here, and loved people who live here. And even though I’m not an American, I genuinely care what happens in this country. What happens in America rarely stays in America. It ripples around the earth, in culture, policy, economy, war, and peace.
And right now it almost seems like the ripple effects are more like aftershocks.
For sure, what is my vision is great if I were to become president tomorrow. What I would change, would be not just right away, but at the same time and with an eye on the future. A vision crafted from real individuals I have met and the difficulties I have seen…
