You know, I didn’t really know what to expect when I began writing this 10 part series. Shawn, the founder and editor at Coping with Capitalism, came up with the idea of splitting what was a very long single essay submission into more easily digestible articles. I’m grateful for that in more ways than one, not least because the extra time and research it afforded me has dramatically shifted the way in which I’m viewing the entire political landscape.

I was so heavily burdened by it all, the struggle, the fight, the endless war of ideas. But after 8 weeks of detailed research and a valuable depth of analysis I’m feeling dramatically, and surprisingly, liberated. I believed I would simply have to learn to live with the depressing injustice of it all, but, sure enough, Buddha and Carl Jung were right, as ever:

To be liberated, you must understand the suffering by going into it, not by turning toward something else more enjoyable.
