Why I’m Only Accepting Solution-Oriented Submissions for Coping With Capitalism

Recently, I’ve turned away more submissions than I’ve published for this publication. It’s a first for me. I typically publish almost every story submitted.
The submissions that were turned away built awareness of the atrocities associated with capitalism. While necessary, these submissions create cycles of highlighting injustices without offering concrete solutions, leaving readers informed but powerless.
Capitalism is a ubiquitous, oppressive system. It’s easy for an individual to feel helpless within it. Many news outlets exacerbate these feelings by predominantly promoting negative news.
We are not helpless.
Everyday, our direct experiences illustrate that, a better system is needed, it can exist, and how we can actualize it. That’s the intention of this publication. To share our unique perspectives while providing clear and accessible paths towards self and collective care.
