Meet us in Brussels on 13th of November to talk about better copyright for education

Soon the European Parliament will vote on copyright legislation in European Union. It is a once in a generation opportunity to create law that fits modern education. We believe that educators should have freedom to teach and to choose resources that they need. Unfortunately, the current proposal from the European Commission impose some unnecessary restrictions on this issue.

We, COMMUNIA Association together with The Lifelong Learning Platform and EUROCLIO want to invite representatives from key educational institutions in Europe, as well as known advocates for copyright reform to share information, discuss the developments around the DSM proposal and define actions we could undertake. The meeting will take place on the 13th of November in Brussels.

We will have a full day meeting where we aim to do three things as a group. First, to familiarise ourselves with the current stakes in the copyright debate surrounding education. Second, to seek opportunities on how we can work better together as a group to make the education voice heard. Lastly, to define strategic goals and actions in relation to the vote in the JURI committee and the plenary vote of the European Parliament.

If you are interested in joining us, please let us know at education@communia-association.org.
