Going out in Córdoba: El Barón

El Barón is my favourite bar in Córdoba. It’s at Plaza de Abades in the old city centre and is always packed with locals and expats.

The drink options range from coffee to long drinks, going through wine, locally brewed IPAs (try Gitanilla) and my favourite: a special recipe for mixed vermut called “Marianito”. It’s served with an olive!

Good drinks taste best when set over good food and, while el Barón does not have a kitchen, they offer a selection on cold platters and canned fish. Try the Russian Salad (tastes like a grandmother’s meal) and if you are into meat this a great place to try cecina, a not so well known cow ham.
