Hi welcome back. Today I’m trying to introduce a blog, “My view on climate change.” It is published by Dutch atmospheric scientist Bart Verheggen. He believes climate change and he think it is caused by human being. So, he is posting the blog because he wants the public to have knowledge about climate change. His blog is based on the facts proved by scientist. And he called them as “evidence.” Although his articles are mostly based on expert’s study, it is easy to understand. It is because his not using difficult jargons a lot, or somehow if he use it then he explains it. Also, he use figures a lot, which help readers to understand the data more clearly. Following two links are the most recent post he uploaded on his blog. And it clearly shows how he use his blog as a medium.
In Earth’s Temperature over the past two million years post, he briefly explains about recent study performed by Synder. He, also, provides information of related studies performed by other scientist. So, by reading his blog, I could follow not only recent study information about climate change, but also other studies performed on same topic. In this post, he also post his opinion about Synder’s study. He disagrees with synder’s opinion. He does not just put his opinion. He adds supporting evidences on his opinion. And those evidences are scientific results, which is derived by him or other scientists. Furthermore, he also tagged other bloggers’ blog to support his opinion. So, it makes his opinion more reliable. So, this articles shows one of characteristic of his blogging style.
Climate inertia post is slightly different from the Earth’s Temperature over the past two million years post. This article mainly talks about his opinion on climate change issue. He thinks that climate change is issue which needs early responses. And he explains the reason with scientific notion “inertia.” However, this article is also written based on the evidence, It’s not his pure opinion. He insist his opinion based on the research performed by other studies. Therefore, readers might feel his opinion is quite logical.
Above two blogs briefly shows some of characteristics about his blog. However, I think the beauty of his blog is that he lets other people to discuss about his article topic on his blog’s commentary section. So, he gives or gets feedback through commentary section. Furthermore, some responders seem like they also have their own blogs about climate change issue. So, by clicking their nicknames, you can get to their blog and you can get other people’s perspectives related to climate change. If you read the comments of articles, you will see that people have different opinion about same topic. Therefore, you can get broader knowledge about climate change. So, I recommend to visit this blog if you are interested in the blog which is based on scientific evidence and to enlarge your knowledge on climate change.
