Wow time really does fly
I wish it wasn’t true, but this year will be my official decade in technology marketing.
I have worked for technology companies that were startups all the way to Fortune 500s.
It’s incredible to think back and go, “Wow, I really went out of university and did ten years of marketing for technology companies”.
So I thought, why not write a reflection post because, after all, that’s what Medium is for, right?
The biggest lesson I learned — connections matter
Although my last job was found through a job ad on LinkedIn, before that, every single job was through some kind of network or connection I had.
As you become more senior, it becomes imperative that connections are a significant gateway to getting your next job.
