For those who are new to Coronatracker, we started work on the 28th of January 2020 with the mission to provide verified information on COVID-19 for people around the world.
It was mainly a team of volunteers believing in the use of data technologies for public good. A team that started as a text message from a friend to another, now has grown to a team of 460+ people from across 6 time zones around the world.
The team also has health and medical practitioners to aid in research and information verification roles.
We gather information from World Health Organization (WHO), CDC, ECDC, NHC of the PRC (China), JHU CSSE (John Hopkins University CSSE), DXY, QQ, and various international media to provide everyone with live updates no matter where you may be in the world. This pandemic does not discriminate and afflicts everyone in over 100 countries with various socioeconomic states.
The CoronaTracker website you are using is 1.0. This was a version that has gone through multiple iterations to support the amount of data we are processing, as well as the number of people that are using our website as a source of information on COVID-19.
The website presents data/information at a country level where we have received feedback to be more localized in showcasing the data/information.
At this time of writing, we have 1,016,408 users from #Egypt, #Malaysia, #UnitedStates, #Philippines, #Germany, and #Singapore just to name a few, serving a total of 225 countries and territories across the world.
As we work towards improving the website to provide better information to each and everyone of you, we would be releasing our 2.0 in the coming period.

1. Country centric information presentation.
Personalized stats and page for each countries. It would have day-to-day data for each affected country.
2. Knowledge sharing on what we have learned
The research team will release their findings to help the public better understand the situation. In this hour of pandemic, being well-informed is critical.
3. More good stuff coming soon
Stay tuned,
