Volunteers Needed for CoronavirusArmy Task-Force

The CoronavirusArmy Task Force is a grassroots initiative to organize volunteer-from-home efforts to stem the tide of infections and save lives.

CoronavirusArmy.org launched Saturday night and has had 33 volunteer applicants so far. We are doing Daily Standup calls on Google Hangouts for volunteers to update everyone on what they’re working on.

Volunteers are Needed:

• We need an ‘Agile Scrum Master’ type person to facilitate the daily standup calls for California.
• We need someone to be responsible for contacting, onboarding, and welcoming new volunteers in California.
• We need someone responsible for taking notes during Daily Standup meetings and posting those as short blog posts on medium.
• We need MERN stack devs, and UI designers to volunteer help with a few web-app projects.
• We need people to help manage projects, manage teams, and coordinate work between part-time volunteers.
• We need people to help recruit volunteers.
• We need people to reach out to front-line medical workers and find out how we can help them and serve them during this time when they’re completely overloaded.
• Even if you don’t have any specific skills we would love your help!

Current priorities:

• We’re working hard to stop big events. Stopping a single big event could prevent untold spread of infections and could save hundreds of lives.
• We’re going to build a web-app portal to help elderly and disabled people connect it local community support while they are quarantined.
• We’re also going to build a web-app to help front-line medical workers find lodging separate from elderly or vulnerable family members so their family can self-isolate to avoid risk.

The Daily Standup call for WA is at 1pm PST, and the Daily Standup call for CA will be at 5:30pm PST. If one time doesn’t work for you please consider joining the other state’s volunteer group.
