The Data vs Data Debate Is Over…

For three decades, I’ve been drawing distinctions. I mean — words matter right!? How you pronounce them perhaps less so…
But I give up! Statistical Modeling, Data Science, Machine Learning… it is all AI now. Hell, Data is AI now. I mean it isn’t … there are very meaningful distinctions embedded in all this vocabulary, but the reality is … No One Cares!
Words, skills, process, and procedures have their place but obviously NOT in the general consciousness. So fine, it is all AI now. NLP and LLM, Neural Networks and Bayes Factors, Predictive Analytics its all just AI.
Of course, it starts with DATA … but then everything is data! Spreadsheets and crappy Salesforce freeform entries, call center transcripts and social media posts, warehouses and lakes, meshes and streams.
