On 19 December 2020, our International Community Manager Jay hosted a Live AMA session with JD, Co-Founder of Cryptoart.ai

Jay: Welcome to Cortex x Cryptoart.ai AMA! Today, we are welcoming our guests from Cryptoart.ai, JD!

JD: Thanks for the invitation Jay, I’m feeling excited to be here. Let me introduce our platform in short. Cryptoart.ai is a digital media where artists and art collectors can get connected.

AMA Session 1 (Questions by Cortex)

Q1: What is cryptoart.ai mission to accomplish? What is the intention of establishing cryptoart.ai?

JD: “Art evolves with time” is the slogan of CryptoArt.Ai. Our mission is to empower art through blockchain technology, solve the lack of digital art dilemma, explore the possibility that contemporary art can connect with digital media, and join the emerging international movement of conceptual blockchain art. The primal aim was to create a modern, equal rights universe for artists and collectors with a decentralized governance paradigm that enables talented artists to solve the pain points in the conventional art sector with blockchain technology in the first case. The consideration they deserve can be seen by reverence and inferiority.

Q2: Art evolves with Time, is the slogan you guys had. What does the slogan try to express or tells people?

JD: If you know the history of Chinese art, this phrase does have a root in fact. This is the typical postscript of the well-known Qing Dynasty painter Shi Tao. The entire text is The Chinese painting ink evolves over time, and the form in poetry varies……’ The proper sense of Shi Tao in the script is that Chinese painting transforms from simple to sophisticated in ancient times, and from sophisticated to simple as the time is nearer to today. The “art evolves with the times” hereby implies that we analyze difficulties and study from the history of art. The human art process has evolved from five steps, namely: primitive art (primitive civilization from the ancient Greek era), classical art (from the antiquity of Greece to 1860), contemporary art (the 1860s to the post-World War II), and post-modern art (from the World War two to the 1980s), contemporary art (1980s to 2020) (1980s to 2020) (1980s to 2020). There has, of course, come a new age, and we are all observers. “Artists who are persistent in classical art can’t live without mobile phones and WIFI now.” says a joke. The warmest part of each era has always formed its own vanguard of “innovation” and “interpretation of the age” Everyone has burst into the initial concept in the mind of the public from Duchamp’s [fountain] through Tracy Emin’s [my bed] to discuss emerging studies and activities. When the media that people cannot do without opening their eyes and shutting their eyes before going to bed are switched to separate display screens, the visual art based on these media is really a revolutionary art, which cannot be overlooked in this age. Since then, an unparalleled feast in history is opened, and this is Criptoart- “Art evolves with time” The creation of NFT is the most groundbreaking aspect of this period.

Q3: As we know,non-fungible-tokens (NFTs) are seen in many fields, for example, games/arts/identity recognition, etc.. and why do you think NTF is able to develop in various directions at such a quick pace?

JD: The fusion of blockchain technology and art has demonstrated a clear vitality and scope for growth from the viewpoint of the subfield of crypto art alone. In conventional physical art, a parallel universe has been added. There are actually many artists from several influential countries in the outside world who joined the cryptoart.ai. NFT not only disintermediate art sales, it solves the contradiction between the diffusion and possession of art, but can also communicate between artists and buyers in a way that conforms significantly to young people’s psychology and also preserves artists’ copyrights. Second, equity is better suited than tangible artworks to reproduction, dissemination, and circulation.

Q4: What are your thoughts on NFTs implemented with AI? Will you guys consider Cortex as a partner in the future?

JD: Ai would be used to address the abuses of the existing NFT artists, the counterfeit issues, and other problems as a solution for the potential NFT artist and to work on a Big Data intelligent comparative network. In the future, we also expect to initiate a variety of co-operations in the Ai field with Cortex and jointly expand the NFT application of Ai.

AMA Session 2(Questions by the community)

Q1: In your perspective, what is Crypto + Art to you? How is it different from the traditional cryptocurrency industry?

JD: For me, Crypto+Art enters a totally different universe. Crypto art doesn’t arrive in the conventional art industry to cut a slice of cake but instead, it brings an immense cake(Cake theory) from the thin air to the market. Moreover, technical advancement has overcome a lot of pain in the art market, allowing the public to see multimedia collections of new media that were originally in low-frequency exchange. Since the 21st century, however, digital media developers have more and more been prevented from duplicating such works by collectors and galleries. Since they value ‘the only copy,’ digital new media art has long been on the fringes of the collecting industry, and the production of encrypted work is optimal. It offers digital art the same scarcity dilemma as traditional artworks and solves the value of the ‘orphan,’ which collectors value most. Furthermore, the most complicated problems for physical artwork are all based on blockchain technologies such as the orderly delivery of validity. It has resolved the tracing and validation of rights and other approaches that render encrypted art a modern art star with the greatest investment value. The encrypted art is more inclined to the qualities of art than the venture capital and cryptocurrency business. Technically, NFT itself has no value. Therefore, crypto-art investment logic varies considerably from crypto-currency. Crypto art investment is not like bitcoin investment. It has a certain period of investment, such as conventional art investment. Investment thresholds for collectors must be set at the same time. Yes, the final revenue of your investment in crypto-art will be calculated by your creative literacy, vision, and persistence.

Q2: In your point of view, what role does the artist have in the blockchain society?

JD: The artists in blockchain society's most notable feature is to break apart from the world where art oligarchy monopolizes the power to speak openly in traditional art and to enter a higher level. As long as you have sufficient talent, collectors and critics can see you equally compared to other artists. In the blockchain environment, crypto artists become the producer for creating wealth. Once the work of an artist is sold, he has little to do with the artist in the world of Popular Art. But in the blockchain world, artists will enjoy an unparalleled appeal for artists, the commission to circulate their works!

Q3: What are your thought on future NFTs or Crypto arts?

JD: I think we all agreed that 2020 is the first year of NFT. This year, NTF’s success suggests that this business is about to expand rapidly. The world’s first prize with a transaction value of over USD 1 million was won by the crypto artist PAK on December 7. The other big encryption artist Beeple’s 5 days later auction in one day just broke the PAK record and moved the success of the encrypted NFT art market to another climax. The auction was formally opened on 12 December, hitting a volume of $ 582.000 in five minutes, with the total amount of the sale exceeding $ 1.1 million. The business sold a total of 824 NFT artworks worth around US$6.4 million and was first listed among all crypt artists.

Q4: Could you name some of the popular crypto artists and how did you know about them?

JD: Beeple, PAK, Song Ting, etc., Beeple is already well-known for creating top crypto artworks. I saw his surreal collection a long time ago. This time it became the world’s top encrypted art with a total transaction value of approximately US$6.4 million. Pak is a famous crypto artist I have been following, and he is also currently working along with us. I would like to call Song Ting a top preacher of crypto art in China. A lot of my knowledge about encryption art is learned from Song Ting’s course. The artwork of her is considered the most avant-garde artwork in China.

Q5: I personally think that art should come with value and liquidity. What are your thoughts on this?

Art must go connected at the hip with value and liquidity and encrypted art changes the cognition of conventional art on liquidity fully. Liquidity has always been a paint point in traditional art, but liquidity is stronger in the world of encrypted art than in traditional art. The growth of thousands of collectors will bring encrypted art unparalleled liquidity and circulations.
