On a daily basis, emergency call-takers all over the world endure the immense pressure of having to quickly diagnose and triage dying patients over the phone. Here, every question they ask and the decisions they make can be fatal, as they are the last stand on the worst day of our lives.

A partnership between Corti and SYSTEL means, that SYSTEL will now be able to offer Corti’s digital assistant, which can assist an emergency call-taker throughout an emergency call using artificial intelligence (AI), directly to emergency medical service (EMS) departments across France.

During the phone call, Corti is able to support the call-taker in real-time detecting critical illnesses, such as Cardiac Arrest, at a faster pace and with higher precision, empowering the heroes of the healthcare sector.

“SYSTEL in close cooperation with the Danish startup CORTI, has definitely entered the era of AI. For several months, our two companies have been working closely on developing a version designed for France”, said Nicolas Bottero, Systel’s CEO.

Corti was founded out of Copenhagen in 2016 and has built a technology that works as a co-pilot for medical professionals. Everyday medical professionals face terrifying odds when interviewing critically ill patients, with zero room for error. Using Corti, the medics can invite Corti’s digital assistance to participate in a patient interview. In the interview, Corti uses information from millions of past patient interviews, never forgetting a thing and drastically reducing medical errors. With fluency in 14 languages, Corti can help to triage the patient and therefore, empower the heroes of the healthcare sector

“We are very excited about this partnership, which shows that France is not only ready to take the step towards integrating innovative technologies that save lives, but also that France and SYSTEL are global pioneers in AI”, said Andreas Cleve, Corti’s CEO.

After achieving demonstrative test results at the end of 2019, SYSTEL and CORTI both confirmed their motive to deploy CORTI’s solution on the pilot site of SAMU-SDIS 74 by the end of Q1 in 2020.

“The mid-term goal is to bring on the market a new solution that helps emergency call centres staff to gain valuable seconds in the event of cardiac arrest. The AI developed by CORTI will be integrated into the operational management system deployed by Systel for the benefit of emergency services.”, said Nicolas Bottero, Systel’s CEO.

Corti’s AI will be marketed as a manufacturer option for anyone partnering with Systel, and available for the SDIS wanting to perform at the most advanced level.
