Bringing back the Willy Wigglestick Blog
--
Several months ago, in an attempt to streamline my blogging (which had spread itself out over several blogs on several different platforms), I decided to stop doing “themed” blogs, and just concentrate on Corybanter.com, my personal blog. However, since then, I really haven’t done a whole lot of blogging here on Corybanter. A few sporadic posts here and there, and that’s it.
Yesterday, I was looking at my Willy Wigglestick Facebook Page, which is a companion to my Shakespeare-themed blog, Willy Wigglestick. I began to consider all of the work I did a couple of years back, crafting that blog into what I wanted it to be. Heck, for a little while, I even focused my short-lived podcast on Shakespeare, renaming it the Willy Wigglestick Podcast. (Don’t look for it now, because I haven’t really stuck with podcasting.)
And so, after giving the matter a bit of thought, I decided to bring back the Willy Wigglestick blog. Shakespeare has been one of my main interests ever since I was about 12 years old, and there is quite a bit of content on the Willy Wigglestick blog that I am quite proud of. I shall try to be a bit more regular about posting there, as there always seems to be plenty of Shakespeare news floating around the internet.
Another thing that ties into the Willy Wigglestick blog can be found right here on Medium, and that’s Bites of Bard, wherein I share some of my favorite passages of Shakespeare, with minimal commentary. I’ve maintained that blog (I think of it as a “mini-blog”) for quite some time, so I haven’t ever shut it down. Compared to some of my other blogging, it’s actually gotten a considerable amount of attention from various readers.
I imagine that someday (before I die) I will get this whole blogging thing figured out in a way that makes sense to me, even if it doesn’t really make sense to anyone else. Meanwhile, as Hamlet says, “I am only mad north-northwest; when the wind is southerly, I know a hawk from a handsaw.” Whatever that means…
