When computers refuse to work

We’ve had our desktop PC for a few years now, so I get it, it’s not exactly a top-of-the-line machine or anything. However, it’s running Windows 10, so it’s not exactly a dinosaur, either. And yet, last night, I inexplicably got an error message that Windows had not started correctly.
