Cybi and her older brother Zeth were adopted as children on the planet 3452 Vishakha III. Zeth has always been Cybi’s biggest hero, as well as her biggest pain. He excelled at everything he did, from battle training, to combat studies, and now as a leader in their planet’s galactic peace-keeping missions. Although a few turns his junior, she knew that she would be following in his footsteps — with the larger than life feet of her Heavy Giant mech Rose Roobota! Zeth might be zipping off around the solar system on interplanetary missions, but Cybi is training hard so that she too can make the grade — and fortune favours the brave! Cybi doesn’t mind people thinking she’s just cute and harmless — because she’s willing to take them by surprise and whip their assess in the battle arena. More than anything else, Cybi loves her mech Rose, and can’t bear the thought of ever being without her. Don’t get between Cybi and her mech! She’ll do whatever it takes to keep her in top condition. She loves her adoptive parents too, and even admits to having some level of affection for her annoying older brother. The events of Cosmic Champs will take Cybi to her limits as she fights to protect what is hers.

Coyote Ray

Ranger Coyote Ray is someone that everyone wants to be, and nobody wants to be. One of the Golden Darlings of the Galactic Federation — born into ease, peace, and comfort, and a cushy job for life if wanted. Even just looking at the perfectly clean suit, and white gloves and shoes can annoy the calmest of people. But Coyote has secrets. One of them is that the reason she always wears those gloves is that without them, her hands sometimes glow white-hot and would burn an average being’s eyes. Coyote will always know what you’re thinking, but will give you the sense of space and privacy to choose your own destiny. Coyote knows she can do a lot more than she does, but she walks a fine balance, here to protect the ultimate freedom of the beings of the Galactic Federation — and that means letting people have the freedom to choose. Coyote was born into the family of a Galactic Federation ambassador, and she and her sister have been trained in the peaceful arts necessary to maintain the balance of power and energy in the universe so that no one planet or being can take power. She takes her obligations seriously, and trains diligently to continue the work of the federation. But without the federation, and a megaverse of planets to protect, who is she? Where does she want to go? What does she want to do?

Gunslinger Triggerman

Gunslinger Triggerman grew up on the backstreets of 2541 Punarvasu IV. Even though the galactic federation aims to be a universal galaxy of peace, there are people and places that slip through the cracks, and not everything is fair. He learnt to fend for himself from a young age, throwing stones to defend himself and his young friends, which is how those who know him well gave him the nickname “Grendediar.” Nowadays, a projection gun is his weapon of choice — mostly because that’s all he can afford, but he won’t admit that. He prefers to be known by his name, Gunslinger Triggerman, which he hopes strikes fear and a healthy respect for keeping their distance from those that come across him. To survive on the streets, he learnt levitating small objects as a trick, and he levitates his projectile discs compulsively to stay calm. Gunslinger doesn’t have much personal ambition — he’s just here to look after himself, and maybe, just maybe, sometimes those that look out for him. In his mind, he got into the galactic federation special cohort through a sheer accident — and he doesn’t deserve his place, but he’s willing to make the most of it. The events of the Cosmic Champs story will test his beliefs about who he is, what he’s capable of, and whether he’s really the only being on his side. Gunslinger’s antennae doesn’t naturally glow — so how does it start?

Invin (The “Invincible”)

Thousands of years ago, before countless evolutions of AI, the ancestors that became today’s Heavy Industry Guild originated from the personalities of humans that were uploaded into the cloud to live eternally in the metaverse. Once encoded with the memories and motivations of humans, they tuned into the “Singularity” frequency, where they say the energy of their human ancestors live on. Invin, although lean, and tangerine, has memories stretching back thousands of years — both his, and the prototypal personas who contributed to his electronic brain. He’s at the service of the Galactic Federation but will never be completely aligned with them. His allegiance is only to the other Heavy Industry members who originated in the same way as him. Despite feeling himself stretch far back in time across many versions of himself, he still has a desire to explore the entire megaverse and to live on the edge of what’s possible for a droid by defending, protecting, serving, and fighting. How much further can a droid evolve?

Hammer Droid

From the Heavy Industry Guild, Hammer Droid is an ensouled mech, much like Invin. Inside of him are the souls of three ancient “wise ones,” once uploaded to the metaverse, and now tuned into via the Singularity frequency. Quiet, thoughtful, and seemingly slow, Hammer Droid has a lot going on inside that he doesn’t show. Hammer Droid has known for some time that change was coming to the megaverse, but in what form? Perhaps a little out of character, Hammer Droid wanted to feel what it was like to be young again — and deleted many of his ancient memories before upgrading into this new mech. What use were they in a new world? What he misses out on in speed he makes up for in strength and consistency. Around friends, Hammer Droid holds most of his power in — but what he really craves is making a big impact.

Salamander Ram Racer

Salamander Ram Racer is a pilot for hire, shuttling merchant cargo faster than the speed of light around the megaverse. He hasn’t seen his home planet since he wasn’t much bigger than a tadpole. But if you need someone to pilot a space craft into the furthest, farthest reaches of the megaverse and not ask any questions, he’s your guy. Ram is on a merchant mission when he loses touch with his next port of call. Rather than stay lost in space, he hones in on a battle ship of the Galactic Federation — just his luck. Ram wouldn’t mind settling down and saying goodbye to the life of a space jockey. Too bad there’s nowhere left to settle but he’s not one to give up. He’s determined to help the ship of young champs find the resources they need to make it through troubling times — especially if there’s coin in it.
