How to Play the Cosmic Champs Beta Game

What is Cosmic Champs
Cosmic Champs is a free-to-play, mobile first, tower rush style strategy game built on Algorand blockchain. Cosmic Champs is real time, 3D, and set in a retro space future.
Cosmic Champs is an NFT game, which means that players own their in-game assets which are recorded on the blockchain, and can buy and sell them in marketplaces.
Whilst Cosmic Champs is an NFT game, NFTs are not essential to play. The game can be played by anyone, for free, even without creating a wallet.
Playing Cosmic Champs can earn players COSG (the Cosmic Champs governance token with limited supply) as well as COSM (the play-to-earn token).
You start earning as soon as you start playing, and once you create a wallet, you can withdraw your tokens and swap them on any Algorand DEX.
What is the beta test?
In September, Cosmic Champs will share their closed beta mobile game with the community. Up to 1000 community members will get the chance to play the game before it’s released to the public.
A beta test refers to the distribution of pre-release game software to a select group of people so they can test the game and the developers can fix bugs and improve the gameplay experience.
As soon as the closed beta launches, the game will be open for the first 24 hours and then close for two days to allow for bug fixing and updates and then it will re-open. Gameplay progress made during the beta won’t be transferable to the official game but the skills learnt can never be forgotten!
The closed beta will be player vs player with player vs computer to come later. Our Season 1 3D NFTs will be usable in the closed beta but it won’t include P2E rewards. During the Beta test, our developers and designers will be responding in real-time to improve the game and get it ready for Open Beta release in early October.
Who can access the beta test?
Anyone who holds a Singularity Era Commemorative NFT (the beta pass) in their wallet will be able to play the beta game once they download it.
Wallets that were on the Season 1 white list and wallets that hold a Season 1 NFT are eligible and will only receive the Singularity Era Commemorative NFT if they opt into the token (details below). A snapshot is being taken and the Singularity Era Commemorative NFT will be distributed shortly before the closed beta launch.

How to download the beta
The first version of the close beta game will be available on Android phones only. The iPhone version will be available approximately 2 weeks after.
Once the closed beta is available for download, we will distribute the link to our community. Once you download the game, connect your wallet with the beta pass to access game play.
Don’t forget that the beta game will be available to play for the first 24 hours and will re-open once the first round of bug fixes are complete — approximately 2 days later.
Beta Tournaments
The first version of the closed beta game will be player vs player. As there are only 1000 beta Game passes, we want to ensure people are online to play together.
We will have a tournament each week during the first month of the beta and there will be COSG rewards for the winners. There will also be weekly “Battle Matty and Simon” sessions.
The Cosmic Ambassadors DAO will also lead gameplay, and advertise when they will be online to battle. We aim for for the whole community to have fun during the beta test period!
Beta Game Rewards
The closed beta game will not be connected to the COSG governance token. It will be free-to-play so no NFTs are required except the Singularity Era Commemorative NFT (the beta pass). We still want to make playing and testing the game worth your while so in addition to the tournament prizes we will have regular challenges and rewards for people who play the game and post their content online — e.g. TikTok, Instagram, Youtube, and Reddit. More details will be announced once the closed beta game is live.
Bug Bounty rewards
We’ll release information about bug bounties at a later date. During the closed beta, we will have a dedicated Discord channel for discussing the beta game and reporting bugs.
Open beta roadmap and public release
In early October, the open beta will be released to the public. Anyone will be able to download and play Cosmic Champs open beta game, until the official game hits the app stores November/December.
