Cosmic Champs Announces Partnership with Algogems NFT Marketplace
Mobile first play-to-earn game Cosmic Champs will launch its first NFT sale on Algogems starting on June 22.
Cosmic Champs is a retro space themed real time play-to-earn game built on the Algorand blockchain. Cosmic Champs is set to launch its first season of in-game NFTs on 22 June 2022 via Algogems’ NFT marketplace. The sale will be conducted over 2 rounds which are 1 week apart. Round 1 will take place on 22 June, 19:00 UTC, and Round 2 will occur on 6 July, 19:00 UTC. The drop will include about 1500 NFTs which comprise 8 different Champs and 2 different Ships. All NFTs will be purchased via shuffles using the game’s governance token, $COSG.
Cosmic Champs is unique in the play to earn ecosystem. It’s designed to be a real time strategy game that is mobile first and all NFTs are 3D and animated. The game has a “tower rush” format where players assemble a deck of Champs and battle for tokens and other treasures. Ships are a mining rig and transform into a players base when they land on a planet for battle. The game’s closed beta is scheduled to launch in the coming weeks. Holding an NFT will be essential for exclusive access to the beta.

Algogems will be the exclusive primary marketplace partner for the first season NFT sales. Algogems is a modern NFT platform offering free NFT minting on the Algorand blockchain, modern content browsing, trading, and auctioning of NFTs. AlgoGems aims to be a fully-fledged platform, with social features, digital art galleries, and customized artists pages for all content creators.

Cosmic Champs will have its own marketplace on Algogems where people can buy Rare, Epic and Legendary versions of the first 8 Champs and 2 Ships.
“The first season has about 1500 NFTs — there’s 156 versions of each Champ, and about 100 versions of each Ship. Ships have a special role in the game, because they are a players base in the battle arenas, mine steel chips which can be used to mint new ships and are a big part of a player’s strategy. Shadow Blade, for example, gives your Champs a stats boost during battle, whereas Hummingbird has a higher mining and p2e rate” says Matty Blanchard.
The game will be free-to-play, but holding NFT Champs and Ships will enhance the statistics for players. The marketplace will initially launch to a white list for the Cosmic Champs community only on June 22. Any remaining NFTs after the two rounds for whitelisted participants willbe sold to the public in COSG. COSG is available from Tinyman and Pact DEXs, on the Algorand network.
