Tournament Wrap Up
Thank you to everyone who took part in our first tournament. It was a huge success! We had over 100 new wallets join the Cosmic Champs game and community! During the 24-hour qualification stage, there were over 2000 games played and the longest period without a single game was 5 minutes, and that occurred just once!
This blog post will list the prizes won and some general stats about the tournament. The leaderboard has been finalised and can be viewed here: https://beta.cosmicchamps.com/leaderboards. The prize amounts are listed in ALGO but have been paid 50% in ALGO and 50% in COSG. We have already distributed tokens. If you haven’t received the COSG part, make sure your wallet is opted in to ASA 1065092715 so you can receive your winnings in the next distribution.

Gameplay Stats
The PVE bot played 535 games during the tournament and had a win rate of 12%. Looks we have a skilled community of players and we need to increase the difficulty of the bot!
Let’s take a look at the number of games played by each tournament participant. Most played 25 games or less and a very small number played over 100 games. One person played close to 200 games!
Next, let’s take a look at the percentage of games won by tournament participants. Only those who played 10 or more games were included. There’s no clear pattern in the plot. Win rates (and skill?) appear to be quite evenly distributed. We can see one person with an almost 100% win rate — that’s CosmiX.

Lastly, let’s take a look at the duration of games played in the tournament. Quite a few games finished before the 3-minute timer expired but most games went into overtime. With a huge number of those games finishing just after overtime started (see the very tall bar).
We took a look at the information you all gave us at registration. 13% of tournament participants indicated that they were new to Algorand. This is a great indicator of the power of games to bring people to a blockchain. 27% of participants told us that they are also active on other blockchains. The top chains people are actively engaged with are:
