Cosmic JS In The Community: Demo Day w/ Coding Dojo
Recently we posted a Developer Spotlight Blog highlighting our new partnership with Coding Dojo, the 14-week developer bootcamp that instructs novice developers how to become code ninjas and proficient in three main stacks. The partnership is geared initially to Coding Dojo’s Dallas market and kicked off two weeks ago with a Javascript in the Wild Meetup where Cosmic JS co-founder & CEO Tony Spiro teamed up with Coding Dojo instructor Kate Moczydlowski (pictured below) to lead a discussion on modern Javascript frameworks. The conversation surrounded best application uses as well as “in the wild” brainstorming for per-project items. Check out the Keynote deck here.
The second installment of the Partnership Series kicks off tomorrow afternoon with a Demo Day at Coding Dojo in Dallas. The Javascript in the Wild Meetup was coupled with a promo code drop for Dojo students to take advantage of $10 in Cosmic JS credits as they entered their Project Week. Now that students have had a chance to meet the Cosmic JS co-founders and learn more about Javascript and how to manage applications through APIs, they are also equipped with additional Cosmic JS features (paid-tier features) so that they can build actual applications for their project week prior to graduation.
Tomorrow’s itinerary consists of a 20 minute discussion recapping the Meetup followed by 20 minutes of Q/A to gauge students’ use of the platform thus far. The final segment of the session will be devoted to real-life scenarios of on the job tasks and how to best accomplish them. An example of one of these scenarios could be launching a landing page that leads into a microsite that performs a particular Call-to-Action, building a user management application and the like.
We will be posting media on our Twitter during tomorrow’s session, and will work to highlight students that show promise with the Cosmic JS CMS API. Our goal is to add value to the Coding Dojo Community while building relationships with the next generation of developers as they collaborate with the Cosmic JS Community to build slicks apps and websites.
