Mainnet! Cosmostation is thrilled to announce that Cosmostation will be supporting Evmos mainnet as a long-term backer of Evmos ecosystem. Evmo-station will collaborate on various fields to realize Evmos’ vision to bring cross-chain interoperability to Cosmonauts and to ethereum ecosystem. Upon the launch of Evmos mainnet, Cosmostation will provide its enterprise-level node operation and renowned front-end user infrastructures including Mintscan, Cosmostation mobile(iOS & Android) and web wallet.
Key Highlights
🔑 Evmos users will be able to fully utilize the whole suite of Cosmostation blockchain infrastructures including an enterprise-level validator node operation and end-user infrastructures with convenient, intuitive UI including Mintscan block explorer, Cosmostation web wallet and Cosmostation mobile for iOS & Android.
🔑 Evmos is an EVM-compatible blockchain built with Cosmos SDK and Tendermint core. Cosmostation, closely partnered with various cross-chain related protocols within the IBC ecosystem, will be able to support Evmos network with synergy effect as a platform for potential joint actions.
🔑 DeFi protocols on Evmos ecosystem will be exposed/connected to a substantial amount of every-day users of Cosmostation. As liquidity is the key component to DeFi projects, Cosmostation’s solid user base will bring a huge inflow of users to Evmos DeFi.
🔑 Mintscan will play a critical role for Evmos as a one-for-all block explorer. There are two aspects of Evmos: Cosmos side and EVM side. Mintscan will support Evmos initially with the basic features of Tendermint-based blockchain(Cosmos side), then subsequently add EVM support. Exact date of full EVM support is yet to be fixed, but Cosmostation is working closely with the Evmos team to find the best schedule for all. Stay tuned!
Evmos, Connecting Cosmos and Ethereum
Evmos(EVM+Cosmos), formerly Ethermint, is a Layer-1 Tendermint based blockchain developed by Tharsis team, specifically designed to be compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine(EVM), the decentralized core computer of ethereum blockchain. Derived from the nature of its design, Evmos brings secure, fast finality-ensured and IBC-compatible space to Ethereum. Furthermore, as Evmos allows Solidity developers to deploy smart contracts onto it, it is expected to bring waves of Ethereum-based projects and assets to IBC network. Imagine all the possibilities!

Evmos — What Next?
Initial Evmos mainnet launch was completed thanks to the founding team and validators — another day, another great leap in scalability. Cross chain is the future and now, whether we realize it or not.
However, as seen in many blockchain projects, mainnet launch can be a bumpy process. (Nobody is born perfect, especially in web3.) It’s the community that grows and improves the network’s overall robustness & security, and Cosmostation will be supporting Evmos network & the community regardless of the circumstance.
Of course, as we all anticipated, a massive airdrop is taking place. Upon the launch, a large portion of tokens(40% of 200M) are allocated for the Rektdrop— an ingenious airdrop designed by the Tharsis team for Cosmonauts/Osmonauts, Ethereum DeFi users who sacrificed an arm(or a kidney) for their gas fee, cross-chain bridge users and some unlucky DeFi users who got rugged along their journey.

Being a smart contract-enabled layer 1 ecosystem, Evmos will be a solid foundation for many DeFi protocols to bloom. To start with: AAVE and Frax Finance will be deployed on Evmos mainnet, connecting millions of DeFi users of ethereum and Cosmos IBC gang.
