Welcome, Stationers! We are writing this article to tell you one of the great features of Mintscan: displaying all transaction records of legacy chains. We will be proudly explaining this feature to you, so buckle up!

Introduction

Before we start on any details, Mintscan is a block explorer powered by Cosmostation, which offers users simple, good-looking dashboard of blockchain’s overall information and precise, advanced view of blockchain data including block history, combined transaction history, proposals & much more. Mintscan is one of the most powerful explorer products out there in crypto world, supporting a variety of networks such as Cosmos, Kava Labs, Crypto.com, Persistence, IRISnet, Osmosis and many more.

Why Mintscan? What’s so special about it?

But how does Mintscan differ from other block explorers? Here’s a simple answer for that:

Mintscan offers the Combined Transaction History feature, providing tx history of ALL previous versions of supported networks.

A CosmosSDK-based network, as many of you are already aware, sometimes upgrades its chain by starting over with a whole new version. For example, Cosmos($ATOM) is currently in hub-4 version, which implies that there have been previous versions of Cosmos: hub-3, 2, and 1. Unlike Bitcoin and Ethereum whose block heights continue to pile on after a fork, when a CosmosSDK-based blockchain “restarts” the chain after the major upgrade, in most cases the block height of the chain renews/refreshes and the block gets minted from the height of 0. Mintscan’s combined tx history feature provides all the records of transactions, not only the current version but also txs occurred in older versions of networks, in one simple search.

Use Cases

Now here’s a problem that could occur: what if a user wishes to collect one’s transaction history and there is no more record of transactions on older version of the chain(legacy chain)? This could be very problematic in events like filing a tax report, creating a financial portfolio, or just keeping the track of your assets, you name it. As a solution, Mintscan offers a simple but effective gateway to all the transactions in one humble search bar. You can simply put in your wallet address in the search bar and voila! You can see all the past activities of your account in the “Transactions” section. You’re welcome, your tax report is now almost done!

With a vast combination of database including the integrated previous hubs’ tx history, Mintscan can be a great transaction explorer for both users and crypto exchanges.

In addition, the combined tx history feature enables searching an address’s past transactions at once without having to swap between different chain versions, which can be very convenient and intuitive. You can simply click on the page number on “Transactions” section to get a bird’s eye view of your transaction history. This is the main reason why we wanted to keep all versions combined, so that you won’t have to switch between different pages for each version’s history.

Outro

Of all the great conveniences Mintscan offers, combined tx history is one of the most useful features for everyday users and crypto exchanges. Visit Mintscan now to easily track your transactions & view your account’s tx history!
