Sui Staking Guide — How to Earn Sui from Staking
Sui staking can generate passive income through staking rewards distributed to delegators. Stake Sui and start earning.
What is Sui Staking?
tl;dr
Users who stake Sui tokens receive staking rewards for supporting the network’s security. The rewards come from gas fees and staking subsidies. The staking reward APY is about 8.7% at the time of writing.
Sui network uses Delegated Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism where token holders elect a limited number of validators, who are then responsible for validating transactions and maintaining the network’s security. Within each epoch, operations are processed by validators who got Sui tokens staked by delegators. In return for contributing to processing the operations, validators and delegators receive Sui staking rewards at the end of every epoch. Delegators can unstake Sui and start spending the assets anytime with the exception of ‘pending period’ (the period before the end of current epoch).

How to Stake Sui
There are a few ways for a Sui token holder to stake Sui. In this section, we’ll introduce how to stake Sui using Splash mobile wallet and Splash Dash Sui staking dApp on web.
Splash Mobile Wallet
Splash is a non-custodial mobile wallet app Sui powered by Cosmostation, an active validator of Sui mainnet, available on both Appstore and Google Play.
Once you have downloaded Splash app and withdrawn Sui token from the exchanges to Splash wallet, follow 6 steps in the example below to start staking:
* Make sure that the network is set to mainnet in the settings⚙️ menu.
- Hit ‘Staking’
- Check the Epoch and hit ‘Stake Now’
- Input the stake amount and hit ‘Next’
4. Check your request and hit ‘Send Tx’
5. Confirm the transaction result
6. Check your staked amount and the rewards
Splash Dash dApp
Splash Dash is a staking dashboard on both web and mobile for Sui stakers, also powered by Cosmostation team. The dApp supports Sui token staking, validators’ information, and your Sui staking portfolio. The dApp is accessible through a Sui extension wallet that follows Sui Wallet Standard like Cosmostation wallet.
To access Sui mainnet wallet, install Cosmostation Chrome or Firefox extension on a computer and add Sui mainnet.
Once you have installed a wallet and withdrawn your Sui tokens to it, go to Splash Dash to begin staking Sui.
